WAEC Result Confirmation

WAEC result confirmation is useful when a receiving institution needs an official check of an examination result. Before applying, verify exactly where the confirmation must go and what service the receiver accepts.

Get the destination in writing

Ask for the organisation’s full name, department, postal or approved electronic address and your application reference. A faculty’s general contact address may differ from the office handling credential verification.

Ask whether WAEC must send the document directly. If direct delivery is required, a personal result printout may not satisfy the condition even when it is accurate.

Prepare the examination record

Collect the correct candidate name, examination number, year and examination type. Keep a certificate or online result copy available. WAEC’s published confirmation information lists supporting result documentation; confirm its current requirements for your candidate category before applying.

Do not assume that instructions for a school candidate and a private candidate are identical. Ask WAEC which route applies if the examination type is uncertain.

Keep a delivery checklist

The service requested and official application reference.
Proof of payment through the approved route.
The receiver’s verified address and candidate reference.
Any dispatch or collection instruction.
The receiving organisation’s acknowledgement when available.

If your application deadline is approaching, ask the receiver whether proof of a pending official request is acceptable. Only that organisation can decide; a courier receipt alone does not establish that your application is complete.

Should I use an old fee schedule?

Use WAEC’s current invoice or written instruction. Fees and delivery arrangements can change, and a historical page may not reflect today’s transaction.

Can a school officer confirm a WAEC result instead?

Ask the receiver what authority it requires. A school’s internal confirmation and a direct WAEC service are not automatically interchangeable.
