Imo State University (IMSU), Owerri, has announced the commencement of its Post-UTME as well as Direct Entry screening process for the academic session 2025/2026. The candidates who fulfil the eligibility requirements are now able to apply online through the official admission portal of the university.

Who Can Apply?
- Candidates who have selected IMSU as their first choice for the 2025 UTME.
- UTME applicants must score 150 or higher.
- Direct Entry (DE) candidates with ND NCE, HND, first degree or A-level qualifications can apply.
Admission Requirements
- A minimum of five (5) credit scores in the relevant subject areas, which include English Language and Mathematics.
- O-Level results have to be achieved within no more than two sittings.
- MBA applicants must complete all the required credit hours in one sitting only.
Screening Fee
A non-refundable N2,000 fee is required to be paid for the screening process. Candidates should verify their data carefully before making a payment.
How to Apply
- Go to the IMSU admissions portal.
- Choose the Post-UTME/DE application option.
- Enter your JMB Registration Number to create your invoice.
- Make payment of the $2,000 fee for screening on the internet or at a bank that is authorised bank.
- You must wait at minimum 24 hours following the payment before you can return to the payment portal.
- Fill in the application form, complete with accurate academic and personal information.
- Upload the required documents, such as O-Level results and passport photos.
- Print your acknowledgement slip following successful submission.

- Registration Closes: 4th August 2025
It is advised that applicants submit their applications early and avoid submissions made last minute.
Screening Score Breakdown
IMSU employs the scoring formula below to determine admission status:
- UTME/DE Score: 70%
- O’Level Grades: 30%
Aggregate scores and department-specific cut-off scores determine admission.
