The JAMB 2026 Uniform Tertiary Matriculation Exam (UTME) registration is just around the corner. One of the most crucial aspects of the process is the creation of a profile number from the JAMB.

Without this code, you are unable to purchase your JAMB E-PIN or sign up at any CBT centre that is approved. In this article we’ll go over what the JAMB profile code is and how you can create it, how to find it in case it is lost, and some of the common mistakes candidates should be aware of.

What Is the JAMB Profile Code?

The JAMB Profile Code is a unique 10-digit code that uniquely identifies every applicant on the JAMB registration system. It ties your personal details, as well as your NIN information and your exam records, together.

  • Purchase your JAMB ePIN.
  • Make sure you register at a CBT centre.

You will require a National Identity Number (NIN) issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).
If you’re not yet registered, visit any NIMC centre to register prior to the time that JAMB registration opens.

Step 2. Send an SMS using your NIN to the JAMB.

Make sure to use the same number that you plan to register with for registration.
Text the following message to the number 55019 (or the number 66019):

NIN 12345678901

(Replace 12345678901 with your actual 11-digit NIN.)

Step 3: Receive Your Profile Code

In a matter of moments, JAMB will send you an SMS with the 10-digit code for the profile.
Example:
Your JAMB Profile Code is 2519847630.

Be sure to keep it safe because you’ll require it to purchase your JAMB E-PIN.

Step 4: Use It to Purchase Your JAMB e-PIN

After you have received the Profile Code, proceed to one of these locations in order to make payment for the registration with JAMB:

  • Banks (UBA, FirstBank, Access, Zenith, etc.)
  • Online platforms (Remita, Quickteller, Interswitch)
  • Mobile Money agents who have been approved by JAMB

You’ll be asked for the profile code before payment.

How to Retrieve Your JAMB Profile Code (If Lost)

If you delete or lose the SMS that contains your profile code, you can easily recover it. These are the options:

  1. Send Redirect to 55019 and 666019 by using the identical number that you have used to generate the code.
    • Example:
    • RESEND
    • You’ll get your profile code again.
  2. Check your inbox for SMS – the message may be saved.
  3. Visit the JAMB office If your telephone number has been blocked or lost, JAMB officials can help to recover your number.
  4. If you have previously linked your email address, verify it, as JAMB may have also sent you a copy via email.

  • The name you have on the back of your NIN must match that of your JAMB registration name.
  • Check with your service provider and confirm the NIN-SIM connection prior to sending the SMS.
