Updated 16 October 2026. You can print your JAMB admission letter for the 2026/2027 session through the official JAMB e-Facility after your admission appears on CAPS and you have accepted it. The current JAMB payment schedule lists the admission-letter service at ₦1,000, plus any approved service charge shown during the transaction.
This guide covers the correct portal, payment steps, PDF printing and fixes for common errors. Checking admission status is free; payment is required only when you proceed to print the letter.
Why the JAMB admission letter matters
The letter is JAMB’s official evidence that your admission was processed through the Central Admissions Processing System. Universities, polytechnics and colleges commonly request it during clearance. JAMB also uses it when determining whether a student belongs on the matriculation list.
A school admission notice is not a substitute for the JAMB letter. JAMB’s 2026 guidance says admissions must come through JAMB and be printable from e-Facility.
Requirements before printing
- Your JAMB profile email and password.
- Your JAMB registration number and examination year.
- An admission that is visible on JAMB CAPS.
- Acceptance of the admission offer on CAPS.
- A working email address and payment method.
- A phone or computer that can download and open a PDF.
If your status still says “Not Admitted” or “Admission in Progress,” do not pay for printing yet. First confirm that your institution has recommended you, your O’Level results are available and there is no unaccepted transfer offer.
How to print JAMB admission letter 2026/2027
- Go to the official JAMB e-Facility portal.
- Sign in with the email address and password attached to your JAMB profile.
- Select Print Admission Letter from the available services.
- Review the confirmation page and record the Transaction ID.
- Choose the payment gateway and complete the official payment.
- Return to the service after payment is confirmed.
- Select the correct examination year and enter your JAMB registration number.
- Open the admission letter, download the PDF and print clear copies.
JAMB’s official instructions say the Transaction ID is important for future payment enquiries. Keep it together with your receipt.
Current fee and payment warning
JAMB’s payment-and-services page currently lists JAMB Admission Letter — ₦1,000, with a ₦100 printing service charge in its schedule. The amount displayed in the official transaction flow is the amount that controls, because charges can change.
Do not pay into a private bank account or send card details to a social-media agent. Use the payment gateway reached from your own JAMB profile.
How to save and print the PDF correctly
- Choose “Download” or “Save as PDF” before leaving the page.
- Use A4 paper and print at normal scale so the QR code and watermark remain clear.
- Keep the original PDF in email or secure cloud storage.
- Print at least two copies for school clearance and personal records.
- Check that your name, registration number, institution and course are correct.
Admission letter not showing: causes and fixes
You have not accepted the CAPS offer
Open “Check Admission Status,” enter the correct year and registration number, access CAPS and accept the admission offer. If your school changed your course, check the Transfer Approval section first.
Your O’Level result is missing
JAMB says awaiting-result candidates must upload their credentials before admission can be processed. Follow our guide on how to upload O’Level result on JAMB CAPS.
Your institution admitted you only on its portal
Wait for the institution to recommend the admission to JAMB and for JAMB to approve it. A school portal message alone may not produce a JAMB admission letter.
Payment shows pending
Check “My Payments” in e-Facility and use the Transaction ID to query the transaction. Avoid making a second payment until the first transaction has been checked.
Wrong institution or course appears
Do not simply print an incorrect letter. Contact your institution’s admission office or JAMB support. JAMB lists a separate change-of-admission-letter process for cases where the approved institution or course differs.
The page will not download
Allow pop-ups for the official portal, try desktop mode or use a current browser. You can also download the PDF and print it later rather than printing directly from the browser.
Admission letter versus school admission letter
Your institution may issue its own notification or clearance document, but the JAMB admission letter confirms that the offer is recognised in JAMB’s national admission system. Keep both. During clearance, the school may compare the course and institution on your JAMB letter with the details in its own portal.
What to do after printing
- Check every personal and admission detail.
- Print your original JAMB result slip if your institution requires it.
- Take the documents to your institution’s admission or records office for verification.
- Complete the school’s acceptance-fee and clearance steps only through official channels.
- Later, confirm that your name appears on the JAMB matriculation list.

Frequently asked questions
Can I check admission status without paying?
Yes. JAMB lists the admission-status check as a free service. Payment applies when you choose to print the admission letter.
Can someone else print the letter for me?
A trusted person can help with a printer, but you should sign in yourself and keep control of your password and payment details. Use only the official portal.
Can I print the letter more than once?
Save the PDF so you can print additional copies when needed. If the portal requires a fresh transaction for a new download, follow the charge displayed in your account.
Is the admission letter needed for NYSC?
It is part of the steps JAMB lists for qualification on its matriculation list. Students whose names are not on that list may be unable to proceed with NYSC mobilisation until the issue is resolved.
What if I forgot my JAMB password?
Use the official password-recovery option or JAMB support. Do not create a second profile for the same candidate.
