LAUTECH Admission Requirements 2026/2027
Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) is based in Ogbomoso and is jointly owned by Oyo and Osun states. It’s a technology-focused institution with a strong reputation in the South West — particularly for medicine, engineering, and agriculture. Here’s what you need to know for 2026/2027.
What LAUTECH Focuses On
LAUTECH is a technology university, so don’t look for Law or Mass Communication here. Programmes span Agriculture, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Medical Sciences, Nursing, Pure and Applied Sciences, and Management Sciences. The medical school is among the most competitive entry points.
O’Level Requirements
You need five credit passes (A1 to C6) in subjects relevant to your course, including English Language. WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, and GCE results are all accepted. Two sittings are allowed as long as the combined results meet the requirement. Make sure your subjects actually match your course — a credit in an unrelated subject won’t count.
LAUTECH JAMB Cutoff 2026
The general cutoff sits around 160–180, typical for a state university. But Medicine, Pharmacy, and Engineering set their own departmental cutoffs — often 220 to 260 for the most competitive ones. Check lautech.edu.ng directly for the current figures, since these change each cycle.
JAMB Subject Combinations
Medicine / Nursing / Pharmacy: Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics
Engineering (all disciplines): Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
Agriculture: Biology or Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics
Computer Science / IT: Mathematics, Physics, and one other science

Management Sciences: Mathematics, Economics, one other commerce subject
Course-Specific O’Level Requirements
Medicine and Surgery: English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics — all at credit
Nursing: English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics
Engineering: English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, one other science or technical subject
Agriculture: English, Mathematics, Biology or Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics
Computer Science: English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, one other science
Accounting / Business Admin: English, Mathematics, Economics, two other commerce subjects
LAUTECH Post-UTME
LAUTECH runs a CBT-based Post-UTME screening for first and second choice candidates. Registration opens on the LAUTECH website shortly after UTME results are released — the window is short, so check immediately after results drop. Your Post-UTME score is combined with your JAMB score to rank candidates for each department.
Direct Entry
LAUTECH accepts OND (Upper Credit), NCE, or two A’Level passes in relevant subjects for Direct Entry. All DE candidates still need to meet the O’Level credit requirements and must register through JAMB’s DE portal.
How to Apply
Everything goes through JAMB CAPS. If you meet the cutoff for your department, you’ll get a Post-UTME invitation via the LAUTECH portal. After screening, offers appear on JAMB CAPS — accept promptly, because offers don’t wait.
Is LAUTECH Worth It?
For STEM careers in the South West, LAUTECH is a genuine option. Medical, pharmacy, and engineering graduates have solid employment records, and the university’s facilities are decent for a state institution. If you want a technology-focused school in Oyo or Osun, it deserves serious consideration.
