EKSU Admission Requirements 2026/2027
Ekiti State University (EKSU), located in Ado-Ekiti, is the main state university in Ekiti and one of the more active universities in the South West in terms of research and academic programming. If you’re targeting EKSU for 2026/2027, here’s what their admission requirements look like.
O’Level Requirements for EKSU
EKSU requires a minimum of five credit passes in O’Level subjects relevant to your chosen course, including English Language — this is the baseline, and it’s non-negotiable. Results from WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB are accepted. You can combine results from two different sittings, as long as the combined credits give you at least five, including English and any other subject specifically required by your department.
EKSU JAMB Cutoff Score 2026
EKSU’s general cutoff has typically been around 160, consistent with most state universities. Certain departments — particularly Medicine, Law, and Engineering — impose their own higher thresholds. Don’t assume the general cutoff covers your specific programme. Check EKSU’s admissions portal (eksu.edu.ng) or contact the admissions office for the current departmental figures.

EKSU Post-UTME
EKSU conducts a Post-UTME for candidates who chose it as their first or second choice. It typically takes the form of an aptitude or subject-knowledge test administered at the university. Registration is through the EKSU portal, announced after UTME results are published. The registration window is usually tight — two to three weeks — so monitor the EKSU website immediately after JAMB releases results.
Direct Entry at EKSU
EKSU accepts Direct Entry applications from candidates with OND (Upper Credit and above), NCE, or A’Level passes. All Direct Entry candidates must still satisfy the five O’Level credit requirements. DE candidates enter at 200 level and bypass the Post-UTME exercise, but must still be screened and cleared by the admissions office.
Applying to EKSU
All admissions are processed through JAMB CAPS. Choose EKSU as first or second choice during UTME registration. After results, if you meet the departmental cutoff, you’ll be invited for Post-UTME via the EKSU portal. Once offered admission on CAPS, accept quickly — provisional offers can be withdrawn if not acknowledged within the deadline period.
What to Know About EKSU as an Institution
EKSU has improved its infrastructure significantly in recent years and has a growing postgraduate school. The university is recognised by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and is accredited for all its programmes. For students from Ekiti and neighbouring states, it offers a geographically convenient option with competitive academic standards for key programmes like Law, Medicine, and Engineering.
