If your Direct Entry transcript has not been received, trace it from the sending institution to the receiving admissions office. “I applied for it” and “the university received it” are different stages.
Identify the stage that is missing
Ask the sending records office whether your request is awaiting payment, record preparation, approval or dispatch. Once dispatched, request the date, destination and tracking or electronic delivery reference.
Then ask the receiving institution which office accepts Direct Entry transcripts and how it matches documents to applications. A document can reach a university without yet being linked to the correct candidate file.
Use this follow-up checklist
- Check the name, registration details and programme on your request.
- Confirm the receiver’s official address or approved delivery method.
- Ask the sender for dispatch evidence.
- Send that reference privately to the receiving admissions office.
- Ask whether any further verification is outstanding.
JAMB’s current support guidance lists academic credentials and an official transcript among Direct Entry verification requirements. The receiving institution’s instructions still determine how and when your particular documents must arrive.
A message that is easy to act on
“My transcript request [reference] was dispatched on [date] to [office/address]. My application reference is [reference]. Please confirm receipt and whether it has been linked to my Direct Entry application.”
If there is no dispatch evidence, follow up with the sender first. Repeatedly asking the receiving school to locate a document that has not left the records office wastes time.
Should I upload my personal copy?
Only if the institution asks for it. A student copy may help explain the issue but may not satisfy an official-transcript requirement.
Is paying a fast-track agent useful?
Use the institution’s documented service options. An unofficial payment creates no dependable dispatch record and may expose your academic documents.
