UNILAG Direct Entry 2026/2027 Portal Closure: What Applicants Should Check

UNILAG’s 14 October notice announced that the 2026/2027 Direct Entry application portal would close on 15 October 2026. Applicants should now check their own submission evidence and the university’s current instructions rather than assuming a further extension.

What the notice confirms

The announcement concerns the university’s Direct Entry online application portal. It is not a statement that every candidate has been admitted or that every JAMB service has closed.

An earlier extension notice named a different date. For this update, the later 14 October announcement is the relevant source. If the university issues another notice, verify it on the official website before acting.

If you submitted before closure

Save the final acknowledgement, application reference, submitted details and relevant payment receipt. Check that the account shows a completed submission rather than a draft form or payment alone.

Review any outstanding transcript or verification instruction separately. Completing the application form does not necessarily establish that every supporting record has reached the right office.

If you did not finish

Contact admissions through the university’s published route and explain the precise position. Distinguish a missed deadline from a technical error reported before the deadline. Include dates, references and the exact error where relevant.

Ask whether any formal remedy or later instruction applies. Do not pay an unofficial agent who claims to reopen the portal or backdate an application.

Does a payment receipt prove submission?

It proves the payment record it describes. Check for the separate final application acknowledgement and status.

Can I assume the page remaining accessible is an extension?

No. Verify the current official instruction. A page loading in a browser is not the same as an approved extension of the application period.

What should I monitor next?

Use the official admission account and university notices for status and document instructions. Keep a dated record of unresolved enquiries.
