Researchers and postgraduate students considering the 8th ACDE Triennial Conference should check the current abstract call before the 30 October 2026 deadline. UNILAG published its notice on 5 October.
Dates and submission route
The notice identifies the conference as taking place from 12–16 April 2027 in Cape Town, hosted by UNISA. It gives the abstract deadline as 23:59 SAST on 30 October 2026. That is 22:59 in Nigeria, which is one hour behind SAST.
Use the official call to reach the submission portal and conference guidance. Do not assume that an email to a general university address completes an abstract submission.
Choose the appropriate category
The published call includes research papers, case studies, innovative practices, policy papers, panels, student research, short presentations and posters. Check which category fits your work and read its current format and word limits.
The conference concerns open, distance and digital education. Explain the connection between your proposed contribution and the actual call rather than relying on a broad education-related title.
Review your abstract before submission
Write down the problem, approach, evidence or project stage, main finding where available and contribution. If the work is ongoing, say so accurately. Do not invent results merely to make a proposal sound finished.
Check that every named author has agreed to the submission and that names and affiliations are correct. Save the submitted version and acknowledgement so later correspondence can be matched to the right proposal.
Does acceptance mean the whole trip is funded?
Do not assume that. Check registration, travel and funding arrangements separately in the official conference information.
Is publication guaranteed?
The call describes publication arrangements and possible further invitations. Read the conditions and review requirements; an abstract submission is not a guarantee of a journal article.
Details checked on 16 October 2026. Follow the organiser’s current notice if any date or instruction changes.
