About OAU

OAU was established in 1961 in Ile-Ife, Osun State. It’s a comprehensive federal university offering degrees across medicine, law, engineering, social sciences, arts, education, pharmacy, and sciences. O’Level Requirements for OAU

OAU requires five credit passes in WAEC, NECO, or GCE O’Level at not more than two sittings. English Language is compulsory across all faculties. Mathematics is compulsory for science, engineering, education (science), and most social science programmes. Remaining credits must be relevant to your intended faculty and course.

OAU JAMB Cutoff Score 2026

OAU’s general minimum JAMB cutoff is 200, but departmental cutoffs within OAU are substantially higher. Realistic benchmarks based on recent admission cycles:

OAU is second only to UI and UNILAG in competitiveness. A score below 220 makes you uncompetitive for most programmes. Aim for 240+ if Medicine, Law, or Pharmacy is your target.

OAU Post-UTME Screening

OAU’s Post-UTME is a computer-based test (CBT) covering subjects in your UTME combination. It’s conducted on the Ile-Ife campus. Registration is done through oauife.edu.ng/admissions — the window typically opens August–September after JAMB results. The Post-UTME score is combined with your JAMB score at a ratio set each year to produce your admission aggregate.

Direct Entry at OAU

OAU accepts Direct Entry candidates with A’Level results (at least two passes in relevant subjects at merit level or above), ND (Upper Credit), or HND. Standard O’Level requirements still apply. Apply through JAMB’s DE portal then complete OAU’s internal screening.
