JAMB Cut Off Mark 2026 for All Universities in Nigeria

JAMB cut off mark is the minimum UTME score a university requires before considering a candidate for admission. Each institution sets its own cut off, and it varies widely across federal, state, and private universities. This is the updated list of JAMB cut off marks 2026 for all universities in Nigeria.

Federal Government Cut Off Mark vs University Cut Off Mark

JAMB sets a national minimum cut off of 140 for universities. This means no university can admit a candidate who scored below 140 in UTME — but many universities set their own higher internal cut offs. For example, a federal university may require 200 or 220 before a candidate is eligible to sit their post-UTME screening.

Important Notes on Cut Off Marks

A cut off mark is not the same as an admission score. Many candidates who meet the cut off still do not gain admission because the number of qualified applicants exceeds available spaces. The final admission score is usually determined after the post-UTME screening exercise, where your JAMB score and post-UTME score are combined.

Cut off marks can also change year to year as universities adjust their standards. Always verify the current cut off mark from the institution’s official website or JAMB portal before applying.

What to Do If Your Score Is Below the Cut Off

If your UTME score falls below your target university’s cut off, you have several options: apply to a lower-tier institution that accepts your score, use supplementary admission if available, resit JAMB in the next year, or pursue an alternative like IJMB or JUPEB for Direct Entry into 200 Level.
