Admission Requirements
General
All applicants must submit academic transcripts.
Ph.D / M.Phil
- Requires an M.A, M.Ed, M.Sc, M.Eng, or LLM from a recognised university.
- Minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5.00 scale.
- For Radiology candidates:
- Must hold MBBS or equivalent and an M.Sc in a relevant Radiology field.
- Must have full fellowship from NPMCN, WACP, WACS, or equivalent.
- Must have completed Part 1 fellowship from NPMCN, WACP, or WACS.
- May undergo screening.
M.A, M.Ed, M.Sc (Ed), MLS, M.Sc, M.Eng, LLM
Applicants must have one of the following:
- Good Second Class Lower degree from a recognised university.
- Degree plus postgraduate diploma at credit level in a relevant field.
- Engineering applicants must have credit in English, Maths, Physics, and Chemistry.
Application Fee & Timeline
- The application fee is ₦12,000.
- Forms are on sale from 16 December 2024 to 30 August 2025.
How to Apply
- Register on the BUK postgraduate portal. Provide your full name to generate login credentials.
- Generate payment form (BUKPPF), log in, print it, and pay via Remita e-Payment.
- Complete the application:

- Personal Data Form
- Submit transcripts for Ph.D, M.Phil, and academic Master’s programmes to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, BUK.
- Ph.D applicants must also submit a research proposal (maximum 350 words) online.
- Submit the application, then print the acknowledgement slip for admission tracking.
