Are you a brilliant, ambitious Kano State graduate looking forward to pursuing advanced education? The Kano State Government has finally rolled out the second phase of its expected 1,001 Postgraduate Scholarship Programme for the 2024/2025 academic session.
This landmark initiative by His Excellency Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf underlines the administration’s commitment to fostering education and availing the state’s brightest minds with global opportunities.
Revived in 2023, the Scholarship Program has funded postgraduate studies for 550 students in various specializations in top universities in India and Uganda. The government now makes good on that promise with more gifted persons able to take advantage of the transformational scheme.
Eligibility Criteria
The program has some criteria that will help select only the worthiest of candidates. These are:
- Must be recognized as indigenes of Kano State.
- Possess a First-Class Honours Degree or its equivalent from a reputable institution.
- Aged 30 or less for applicants with four to five years of degree duration and 35 or less for applicants with more than five years of degree duration.
- Present a valid medical fitness certificate.
- Have completed the NYSC program or hold an official exemption or exclusion certificate.
- A motivational 500-word personal statement displaying the intended program/course, ambition, and how this relates to the objectives of the scholarship program.
- Accept the program’s terms and conditions.
Candidates with special disability needs and candidates applying for courses viewed as crucial for Kano State’s advancement will have an advantage.

Print the completed form and attach it below;
- Birth certificate
- Indigene certificate
- Academic credentials: primary school certificate, WASC/GCE/SSCE/NABTEB/NBAIS, degree certificate, transcript
- Medical fitness certificate
Hardcopy applications are to be forwarded to the Screening Committee Secretariat at:

Deadline
Applicants must submit their applications within two weeks of this publication. Interested applicants are hereby advised to prepare for the mandatory physical screening interview.
