If your institution is not showing on NELFUND, do not select a different school just to continue. The application must identify the institution where you actually study.
Check the name carefully
Search the official name rather than only the abbreviation. A renamed institution may appear under wording different from the name students use casually. Check the campus or institution category if the form separates them.
Then ask the school’s designated student-loan office whether the institution currently participates and whether its student records are available for verification. A friend at another school successfully applying does not establish the position at your institution.
Prepare a useful enquiry
Give the office your programme, level and session, along with the exact point where the institution is missing. Include a screenshot of the search result if useful, but do not expose a complete identity record in a public group.
Ask: “What official name should I select, and has the institution completed the current student-data process for this application session?” If the office cannot answer, use the support route linked on NELFUND’s website.
Plan around the uncertainty
Keep the institution’s actual fee and registration deadlines on your calendar. A missing portal listing does not itself grant an extension. Ask the bursary or student affairs office about any written arrangement for applicants whose loan request cannot yet proceed.
Do not pay a private person for an “institution activation code.” Verify any claimed requirement against the official portal and school communication.
Can I apply under a partner institution?
Only use a route expressly confirmed by NELFUND and the institution for your own record. Choosing a convenient name can produce an inaccurate application.
Does missing from the list prove permanent ineligibility?
No. It tells you the option is unavailable in that view at that time. Ask the official offices for the current reason and next step.
