ABU Zaria Post-UTME Requirements 2026

ABU Zaria conducts its Post-UTME screening for all candidates who scored at least 180 in the 2026 JAMB UTME and selected ABU as their first-choice institution. The Post-UTME is a computer-based test administered at the university’s main campus in Zaria and at satellite campuses. The test covers subjects relevant to the candidate’s chosen course and is typically 60–90 minutes long with 50–80 questions. The Post-UTME score is weighted alongside the JAMB score to produce the admission aggregate. Register for the ABU Post-UTME on the official ABU admissions portal at abu.edu.ng once registration is announced. Note that ABU processes a large volume of applications, so the competition at the Post-UTME level is also significant, especially for Medicine, Law, and Engineering.

JAMB Subject Combinations for ABU Zaria Courses 2026

Choosing the correct JAMB subject combination is critical when applying to ABU Zaria. Many candidates lose their admission eligibility not because of a low JAMB score but because they registered for the wrong subjects. Here is a guide to the required JAMB subject combinations for the most popular ABU departments:

For Medicine and Surgery, Pharmacy, and Nursing at ABU, your JAMB subjects must include Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and English Language. For Engineering courses (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical), subjects must include Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English Language. For Computer Science, subjects are Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry (or Biology), and English Language. For Law, subjects are English Language, Literature in English, Government (or History), and one other arts or social science subject. For Economics and Accounting, subjects are Mathematics, Economics, English Language, and one of Government, Geography, or Commerce. For Agriculture, subjects are Chemistry, Biology (or Agricultural Science), Physics (or Mathematics), and English Language. For Education courses, the subject combination depends on the teaching subjects chosen — confirm in the JAMB brochure for your specific Education combination.

Always confirm your subject combination in the current JAMB 2026 brochure at jamb.gov.ng before completing your JAMB registration. Changing subjects after registration is typically not possible, and registering with the wrong combination will disqualify you from the corresponding department even if you score highly in JAMB.
