What Is Arabic Studies?

Arabic Studies can be described as the study of academics in the field of Arabic literature, language, as well as history and culture. It involves writing, reading, and translating, as well as knowing the meaning of modern and classical Arabic texts.   • English Language
  • Other Arts or Social Science subject

The core subjects: Arabic and English

Optional subjects: Islamic Studies, History, Government, CRS Literature

Some schools may require Islamic Studies; however, others will accept the study of literature either in English or in the Government. Check the university.

  • Certain schools will accept students from CRS, Yoruba, and French as substitutes or instead of Islamic Studies.

Direct Entry Requirements

To be eligible for Direct Entry admission to Arabic Studies, you need:

  • Two A-Levels in Arabic or another Arts subject
  • OR the NCE/ND/HND with high marks in Arabic-related subjects.
  • Also, JUPEB/IJMB exams in Arabic as well as another Arts/Social Science subject

Direct Entry students can begin at the 200 level, depending on the school.
