The Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) has secured full accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for 15 academic programmes across different faculties. This was confirmed after the recent accreditation visit by the NUC team.
The exercise was carried out in October and November 2023, covering several departments in the university’s Uli and Igbariam campuses. After a thorough review, all 15 programmes assessed were granted full accreditation status.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kate Omenugha, this success reflects the school’s commitment to quality education and academic excellence. She thanked the academic and non-academic staff for their efforts and teamwork during the process.

- Education and Integrated Science
- Education and Mathematics
- Education and Physics
- Education and Political Science

- Education and Igbo

- Primary Education Studies
- Early Childhood Education
With full accreditation, these courses are confirmed to meet national academic standards and can continue to admit students without restriction.
Professor Omenugha noted that the achievement is just the beginning. She said the university will keep working to improve teaching, research, and the learning environment for students.
