The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved 14 new Gombe State University (GSU) undergraduate and postgraduate programs. This approval followed a detailed resource verification carried out by the NUC in April 2023.
The approved programmes include:
- B.Sc. International Relations
- B.Sc. Procurement Management
- B.Sc. Development Studies
- B.Sc. Taxation
- B.Sc. Health Information Management
- B.Sc. Radiography
- LL.B. Private and Islamic Law
- LL.B. Common Law
- M.Sc. Anatomy
- M.Sc. Physiology
- M.Sc. Pharmacology
- M.Sc. Biochemistry
- Master of Public Health (MPH)
- Ph.D. Pharmacology
With this approval, GSU can now admit students into these courses starting from the 2024/2025 academic session.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Aliyu Usman El-Nafaty, confirmed the development and expressed gratitude to the NUC for its support. He also praised the university staff for their role in ensuring GSU met the standards set by the commission.
This new set of programmes adds to the growing list of academic options available at Gombe State University. It also strengthens the university’s position as one of the fast-growing institutions in northern Nigeria.
